Hey, new here. Looking for some advice with this Draceana. It’s struggled with brown tips since I brought it home a couple years ago. I repotted it back then and it has grown and done well but the tips always brown. I repotted it just over three weeks ago as the app suggested the pot it was in didn’t have drainage and it was getting brown tips due to too much moisture. The roots looked good and healthy at the time of repotting. I repotted in plastic pot with good drainage and potted in multipurpose miracle grow soil and watered thoroughly but it is looking much worse now than before. Have not watered since repotting, almost four weeks now and the Moisture meter shows slightly damp first couple inches but wet about 75% of the pot depth. I’ve already had to remove maybe a dozen lower leaves that turned yellow but there’s more everyday. There is new growth coming in as well but not as fast as they’re dying off. I’m worried and don’t know if I should do anything more or if I’ve already done too much. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

You need to fully change out the soil to succulent/cactus mix or something “chunkier” that doesn’t retain as much fluid. I can’t tell how deep the pot is but it may be too deep for it to dry out the way it needs too.

I think you’re right. The pot is the 10” nursery pot it came in. I’ll try switching out the soil as you’re suggesting. Thank you!!

What type of water do you use? Humidity? These are sensitive to chlorine and chemicals in water. Distilled or treated water works well.

Humidity is a little dry since it’s winter and close to the heat vent but it gets misted every few days with distilled water. I water with distilled or spring water, never tap.
