# Franklin, my string of turtles, is growing BUT some of the turtles…

_Posted by Jneyman on 2025-10-07_

Franklin, my string of turtles, is growing BUT some of the turtles around the pot have started to look a bit anemic. I have had this plant for 6mo and haven’t repot it. I’m scared to check the roots since turtles are so fragile. As it is, I’m now attempting to propagate a handful of strands that fell off while trying to diagnose the issue and clear out fallen turtles.

Any tips or recommendations?

There's an excellent article on turtles at lovethatleaf.com called "How not to kill string of turtles"

Is the crown of the plant getting enough light?

Maybe? It’s about 2 feet below my 14hr lamp 🤔
