# Hello fellow plant lovers! I have two Passion Fruit vines. One is…

Hello fellow plant lovers!

I have two Passion Fruit vines. One is doing well and growing fast. The other started wilting/drying the other day. I’m not sure what happened and I’m desperate to save it.

The difference between the two:  
Bad Passion Plant:  
\- On East side of balcony.  
\- Receives direct sunlight early morning through about noon.  
\- Planted in grow bag (1 gallon)

Good Passion Plant:  
\- On West side of balcony  
\- Receives direct sunlight noon through early evening.  
\- Planted in wooden rectangular planter

They receive the same amount of water. The bad passion plants leaves are dry.

I live in southern California and it’s been hot AF lately so my first thought is maybe the early sun has been drying it out? I’ve never grown vines before and desperately want to save it.  
Is it too late?

For reference, this is the good passion plant. It’s planted at the end of the planter and trailing up the balcony. I did notice some caterpillars 🐛 on this one so I’m so glad I got up close to take some pictures lol pulled them off so I can release them elsewhere

Maybe put it with the other vine. How much do you water it?

Thank you for your response! I’ve been following the Planta app and watering them every 6 days. I thought maybe I should water it more because it’s in a fabric grow bag and probably drying out sooner, but I tend to overwater my plants so I haven’t because I had to special order these passion fruit plants and I didn’t want to make the same mistake. However now that I think about it, I’ve recorded these two plants in Planta as one plant that’s in a rectangular planter so maybe they do need different schedules and I’ve been basing them both off of the good passion plant in the planter. I can never tell if a plant is over/under watered though.

I'd say definitely water that vine more, probably about every 4 days. Don't water it too much at a time, just give it a good soak. That's definitely the problem if it's in a fabric bag. Also probably set up different schedules and definitely do research. Hope it grows better!

I so appreciate it! I didn’t even think about it until you mentioned it. I’ve doubled up on a few plants so I’m going to divide them all up in the Planta app. I’ve never used grow bags before, I didn’t realize just how much they can air out!

You're welcome! I've personally never used too many grow bags, but since they're pretty thin they do loose water fast. If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer them! Good luck!
