# HELP! I was gifted this Vriesea carinata last year (first picture).…

HELP! I was gifted this Vriesea carinata last year (first picture). Came with the wrong compost so the flowers quickly died, which i believe it'll only do once.

In the spring, I put it in a well-draining soil mix and these two off shoots quickly started growing. Now the part where the flower died back is starting to decay. Is there any saving this plant? Is it possible to try and propergate the baby shoots?

Maybe cut that piece back as far as you’re able to and see what it looks like and if it dries out?
