# Hi, all. I have several plants that I have repotted in terra cotta…

Hi, all. I have several plants that I have repotted in terra cotta pots with cactus/succulent soil in hopes they will do better. (They stay wet so long and when I do water them they turn very yellow).
My question is, do I water them now or wait until Planta says to next time? Some, like my Christmas Cactus, were recently watered and aren’t due yet.

Nope don’t have to water them at all, especially if they are experiencing overwatering signs already. Leave them be for a couple weeks at least

Great! Thank you so much!

Also, look up good soil mixes online and compare to your soil. Sometimes soil stays wet for too long because it doesn't have the right particles to allow drainage

I can't keep succ or cactus in terra cotta here. It literally does the opposite of drying them out. Since the house is so humid, the pot doesn't leach water like they usually do.

I’m assuming when talking about terracotta, we are talking about natural clay terracotta pots with no glaze or paints. In the past I was talking to someone who assumed all were the same. She showed what she was talking about and it was a terracotta pot with an outer glaze. That does not leach moisture.

No glaze. I can see the water leaching out already.
