The bottom leaves on my Monstera are looking pretty trashy. There are these little tiny white bugs I don’t know what they are and how to get rid of them.

They’re thrips. You’ll want to isolate it and treat it. Also check your other plants to make sure they haven’t spread. They can spread fast

I had this same problem when I brought home a flower bouquet from a field! These little bugs are nasty and crawl onto every surface, check the underside of leaves and new growth for them. I got rid of those guys eating all my plants by washing every plant thoroughly in the shower, and wiping all pots \& windowsill with rubbing alcohol. Hope this helps!:)

Thrips are the worst! If you have any plant within the same vicinity, assume they all are infected and treat all of them. And monitor all your other plants EXTREMELY closely as thrips can fly quite far.

They have a 21ish day life cycle, so you’ll need to do repeat treatments. They lay eggs in the leaf, which protects them from topical treatment. Then the eggs hatch and drop into the soil, then mature and fly back up to the leaf to continue the cycle.

You need to try to treat both the plant and soil. I use diatomaceous earth on my soil and get a spray that specifically lists Thrips and isn’t all natural. Spray every 5-7 days for at least 21 days. And if I see even 1 sign of them I start back at day 1.

Good luck!

If you have Amazon, purchase neem oil and spray the plant with it.
