I too had bugs. I saw the beginnings of a gnat problem when I moved mine outside and I tried the traps and hydrogen peroxide and neem oil and it didn’t help at all. Got the bonide systemic granules and all the bugs were gone that day. And have stayed gone. I even used it in some tiny baby plants (like 3” pot tiny) and they’re all happy and thriving with no harm done. So I’d say skip the rest and go straight for the granules.

okay definitely going to give that a try bcz the inside of my house is a cave and i can’t have any plants inside they will all die🤣so they are all outside and definitely thriving but these bugs are going to be the death of me definitely giving that a try thank you 🤍

Carefully read the warnings on Bonide systemic granules. They can cause lung cancer. You need gloves, masks and similar protective equipment when handling per the instructions. I would not recommend spreading it around on your plants. No one is walking around with this equipment everyday around there plants.

Yes, definitely follow instructions and use what feels safe for you! I wore gloves and a plastic disposable spoon to apply. Unfortunately I live by a coke mill with a bad reputation for pollution and awful air quality on the daily so cancer warnings don’t put me off much 😅 Everyone is different though!

i recently bought ladybugs for pest control!! it might depend on what type of bugs you’re seeing, but i’ve heard they help a lot with controlling things like aphids and small flies. my sister also uses praying mantises for this and other buggies
other than those i also agree with diluted neem oil, but you have to be really religious and consistent with it when using it on outdoor plants :( bugs are SO stubborn

thank you above for educating about the granules!

I have about 80 potted plants outside. I get beneficial insects and some pests on those plants. I try to avoid killing beneficial insects like spiders, ladybugs, etc., and others that feed on aphids, thrips, mealybugs and the like. I also have lizards, tree frogs, shrews, and wasps that keep pests off my plants. I don’t want to poison them.

I pick off snails, slugs and caterpillars with a long handle tweezer or other tools. I start with the mildest treatment like Dawn dish water spray or isopropyl alcohol spray on pests m. I will use a Mosquito Bits solution when facing fungus gnats. I use Raid bug spray for persistent aphids ( 6 months). Then, dunk the entire plant is Dawn dishwater.

The bonide horticultural oil spray has worked for me. I had a huge infestation of spider mites, scale, and mealybugs on my balcony. I keep spraying outside and the problem has gotten much better. I think I’m just going to spray the plants outside every two weeks to keep it under control, knowing the pests will be a constant. Tried ladybugs but they didn’t stick around.
