Hey everyone, I’m back. I posted on here a couple months ago about my inch plant getting brown marks on its leaves and then the leaves eventually dying off. I was told to avoid letting water sit on the leaves and I have been but it seems like whatever is wrong is spreading. It seems to affect the leaves closest to the soil and then spreading down the stem. I have some stems that are almost bare now and I’m not sure how to stop it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Could it be root rot? Change the soil and see what happens

Will do! I don’t know if this matters but the water that filters out of the pot when I water it is dark. Is that a sign of root rot?

Hmmm not sure. I too have some plants that do that. I wonder if it’s the type of soil?

Those plants are a lot like succulents honestly. Much like snake plants, they don't want to be watered a ton and don't drink very fast, making them more vulnerable to rot issues

I’ve been watering it as planta recommends but it’s at least once a week so I’ll try cutting back

Planta is a calculator. It takes a few different environmental factors and creates a formula off that. Unfortunately, that calculator can't always take every little thing into account. Take Planta watering reminders as a moment to \*check\* your plant :') You are not the first person I have seen who's gotten got by Planta watering 😭

I have two of mine in terracotta pots and they seem to love them if that’s an option for you.

Also maybe start bottom watering so the leaves don't touch water..

Good idea
