# After flowering, my flame sword has started to die. It's grown these…

After flowering, my flame sword has started to die. It's grown these two solid live structures of leaves from it's main body that I suspect may be pups. However, since their from the main body I can't be sure. Is there any way I can check? Another problem is that they are both growing at an angle with one groing with a 90° bend in it. Can I fix this somehow? Any help would be amazing.

hai,

This is natural for bromeliads. After blooming, they usually have kids. You should be able to pull them out if you want but I would leave them alone until the mother plant dies so they can still draw from mom until they’re more established
