My bamboo is turning yellow and loosing firmness. What should I do?

I would put it in some soil personally. When my plants are to welting in water i cut the soft parts off If possible (like stem if not Going to effect root system if that makes sense) and or let it air dry ad much as possible and transplant into soil

I agree with OG.99 but I would also give it more sun and nutrients
