# help! what is this white “fuzz” stuff on my pothos and how on earth…

_Geplaatst door moyin op 2024-11-20_

help! what is this white “fuzz” stuff on my pothos and how on earth do i get it off? at first i thought it was spider mites so i treated the plant for them, but there were no sign of spider mites other than the webbing. Then i thought it was some type of fungus, and i sprayed the plant routinely with diluted 3% hydrogen peroxide. Since that didn’t work i sprayed with undiluted hydrogen peroxide and it still didn’t go away. So then i decided to go completely soilless because i thought there might be something in the soil, but after i blasted the pothos with water, sprayed with HP and the let it grow in water for two weeks, it STILL appeared. The strange thing is that the plant doesn’t seem to be harmed, but i don’t know how safe the webbing is for humans and tbh it looks very very ugly…

Some plants do have hairy roots, but That looks like fuzzy mold growth. I would take them out, spray them with a mix of peroxide and let them sit, while you sanitize the bowls.

It’s fungus. I agree with Wolfen’s recommendation to disinfect both the plant and container. Use a fungicide if it returns again.🍀🪴

Lack of airflow usually causes this. I see this on the soil of some plants, i mix up the soil, put it in a spot with more airflow and it doesnt come back
