# Hi everyone!! I got this camo dieffenbachia about a month ago on sale…

_Publié par Carolyn le 2024-04-14_

Hi everyone!!

I got this camo dieffenbachia about a month ago on sale from Kroger. It was so big and healthy, but when I got home it started dropping leaves (which I thought was normal since it was relocated). Now, the edges are getting brown and crispy and recently some of them are completely drooping.

I usually bottom water it when the soil is mostly dry and I’ve been trying not to over water it. I haven’t repotted it either and it’s in front of a north facing window. I’d appreciate any recommendations! Thank you all!! :-)

Hmmm…sounds like you are doing things like I would advise. Crispy leaves like that usually means too much light or not enough water. I personally wouldn’t put it in front of a north window, as that is too little light I would think, especially since the leaves are so variegated. Do you have an east window? Or maybe you are not putting enough water when you bottom water? Are you fully saturating the soil? Remember that overwatering is not how much water is given but how frequent

I only have a north and a south facing window in my apartment unfortunately, but the dieffenbachia is directly in front of the window so I was hoping that would help. I submerge the pot in water and leave it for about 30-45 minutes but I only do it when I feel the bottom being dry

I understand, my house is the same! Only north and south windows too. Hmm…maybe water it when it’s halfway-3/4 dry rather than all the way. Since it’s in a north window, I’m thinking it needs more water

I couldn’t keep these alive for the life of me and I probably sound like a broken record but try semi Hydro (Leca to be exact)

Thank you!! :-)

My home is where a dieffenbachia goes to die. I haven’t bought one or a ficus in many years.

Aw hahaha I’ll keep that in mind. At least this one was only $15 🥲
