Hi! Mine are placed right in front of southeast facing windows, normal house humidity and watering when it is 50%-70% dry.

Trim off everything that’s dead and leave growth points , then I would repot and upsize , and relocate to somewhere like the person above commented :) a chunky soil will do just fine . Then give it a good watering. You can also use growth paste , or keiki paste . The paste will have directions on use :) but you basically apply it to naked growth points , or nodes . It promotes growth!

I understand I have the same issue with dieffenbachias. But one of these days I gonna get one to grow.

You could try an aglaonema. They have similar leaf patterns and tend to be more low-maintenance.
