# So I bought a Christmas rose again this year. This is attempt number…

So I bought a Christmas rose again this year. This is attempt number two with the hellebore plant and I haven’t had a ton of luck (but the first one was very early in my plant journey). I am posting because it has some cut stems at the top of the plant or “crown” that have been kind of rotting out. The reason for the cut stems is an aphid infestation. That was a fun discovery upon bringing this plant home. I guess I love me a project. To note I am checking with a soil moisture meter that it is dry before watering and this time I took away some of the soil at the top as well as switched to bottom watering.

Should I spray the crown with anything for the mould (like hydrogen peroxide?)
