# Newbie plant owner here! I recently received a 30-year-old golden…

Newbie plant owner here! I recently received a 30-year-old golden pothos from my mom, who was given the plant as a gift when I was born in the hospital. So obviously, this plant has a lot of sentimental value and I’d really like to keep it alive! I recently repotted it since it had been stuck in the same one for the past few decades, and I noticed these black spots on some of the vines. I know my mom regularly trimmed the leaves, so I’m not sure if those are just healing spots or a bigger problem. As far as I can tell everything else looks normal, but I’m not an expert. I’d appreciate any advice to keep this baby alive!

Points of new growth, nothing wrong with it

Those are aerial roots and how the vine attaches to its surroundings. They can climb trees in the wild, so that’s why they’re there. Nothing to worry about.
