Are these bugs? I honestly can't tell. They are small white dots. But they DONT move. And my poor monstera leaves have them all over them. I have a moss pole, so I figured it's either dust or something coming off it. But I don't know. My monsteras are dying so sadly and have burnt orange sad leaves. :( i checked the dirt and see no bugs or anything crawly... Maybe they were left in the sun too long? (It's winter so the sun isn't strong, and warm in my house

Could be salts being pushed out of the plant through the stomata.

Nope, those are definitely thrips, especially looking at the leaves dying slowly. Take the plant and shower it down really good, try to knock off every single one of those buggers. Then cut off the dying leaves, and spray the whole plant with captain jacks insecticide spray or arber insecticide spray, treat for two months every week

Do you use this spray inside? It’s pretty toxic isn’t it?

#### Alyssa ha respondido el 2025-03-04

Not as toxic as some other sprays, and not as toxic as systemic granules. But no I wouldn’t spray it inside, I usually wait for a non windy day and then take the plants I need to spray outside and do it then.

Yeah they are tiny little enemies and I think the white stuff is their poop. So they like to dash and hide and lay eggs inside the leaves. Lol yeah, scorched earth might be the best approach instead of spending tons of time to save it

check all your other plants for thrips as well - these guys can fly and are super annoying to get rid of. a neem oil solution should also work! good luck!
