# Anybody ever seen a gabby that’s almost completely void of…

Anybody ever seen a gabby that’s almost completely void of chlorophyll? Will this ever develop more chlorophyll? It grows very slowly, obviously. Also not very attractive in my opinion.

I just learned these guys prefer shade. It’s been growing under a strong grow light. I’m thinking maybe if we move it to shade maybe the chlorophyll will come back?

I have mine under strong grow lights with no issues on color. Each leaf has a small amount of green, like they are supposed to. I think i have one that's got only a smidge

Gaby doesn't have that much info since the cultivar was only released in 2020, but id treat it like philo pink princess since the verigation is also unstable. Ive seen some fully verigated leaves of different plantsrevert but If it becomes completely cream I'd cut it just to avoid the possibility that it kills the section.

The original nursery it was created in does grow it for the 99% cream color so I'm not entirely sure though lol

They are shade loving and full sun hating per Gabriella Plants, the creator.

I love these. But, the hefty ~$200 price is out of my plant budget especially when the grower states “it's tendency to produce high levels of white variegation, it's not uncommon for the all white leaves to wither and die after a longer period of time.“ So, tone down the direct full sun/light and provide indirect lighting. But, prepare for some leaves dying off at some point.

Manjula pothos was my consolation prize: white leaves, stable variegation and a low price that won’t make me cry blood if it dies off!😅

I agree. I’ve gifted the gabby to my daughter who loves it and has way more patience than I do. And she’s giving me a Manjula.

If you can get to Orlando and visit Gabriella’s plant shop, they are not nearly that expensive.

They must have a lower price for locals. Their online shop shows $199 for it and sometimes ~$145. I wish I lived nearby.

Any varigated plant can throw all white "varigated" leaves. If it keeps doing it, you may want to cut it back to the node before it started
