# Can any one identify these weird root things? They appeared so…

_Geplaatst door TLSoup op 2025-06-03_

Can any one identify these weird root things? They appeared so quickly and look nothing like my monstera’s roots and it has me concerned. She is still doing good and is even in the middle of pushing out a new leaf, so that’s good at least.

Will it harm her?

It typically does not hurt the plant. It’s just unsightly. Light through the clear pot helps it grow. You can put the clear pot inside an opaque plastic, ceramic or clay outer pot. Let the soil dry more. A commercial fungicide can clear it.

That is mycelium! Fungus! It’s a sign of healthy soil, hopefully this fungus will help your plant absorb more nutrients if it’s a nice one!
