# Okay, something is definitely going wrong here. I got this beauty…

Okay, something is definitely going wrong here. I got this beauty less than a year ago. My cat did put some bite marks in awhile ago (please don’t judge she goes after my plants if I don’t get her name brand food and will go on a hunger strike while nibbling on my plants).

My Birkin is currently in a spot that the cat can’t get it, has a grow light, and is taken very good care of but it just doesn’t want to thrive.

Any and all help or advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

more info would help - whats the watering sched like? how much light does it get? what kind of soil is it in?  
i would also pull off that yellow leaf - anything that is more than 50% yellow i will take off :)

oh my gosh first of all your cat is a menace💀💀and birkin is so cute! love the progress pics😁

philodendron leaves turning yellow is typically because of overwatering—the birkin variety is really sensitive to too much water. i would check the ENTIRE soil’s moisture (like stick your finger way down there or uproot the man and examine the very bottom of the soil) and like @c.cat said, to trim the yellow guy off (as the plant unnecessarily expends its energy on leaves that arent benefiting it). if it doesn’t get any better, i would maybe uproot him and check for root rot (and trim the squishy black roots) or maybe just entirely repot him into a more well-draining soil?

Update, less water has been the key and thank you!!! My cat was upset when we didn’t feed her fast enough so now I have to take care of my spider plant 😂

Yes she is definitely a menace and knows exactly how to give revenge lol
