# It finally happened to me 🙁 my lemon lime maranta hasn’t been doing…

It finally happened to me 🙁 my lemon lime maranta hasn’t been doing great and when i looked at it closely this morning i found scale. i feel sick that i let it get as bad as it did, although it doesn’t look as bad as some i’ve seen. i immediately took it to an isolated spot and just noticed the plant next to it had one or two scale(s?) as well so moved that plant into the iso zone. i didn’t see any on the third maranta i keep on that level of shelf so i moved it to a third location by itself. all i had at home was a little bit of neem oil left so i sprayed as much as i could. after work i’m planning on getting some alcohol and q-tips and cleaning off the two plants that definitely have it, and getting some more neem oil to spray ALL the plants around the area. i also have some systemic granules. i’m just not entirely sure what all to do and where to get started 😭 any advice or words of encouragement? 😂

Since Marantas can be sensitive to treatments, I wouldn’t go too crazy with treatments. I’ve had good luck with systemic granules in the past on mine, treated about once a month. Takes patience. Plus diligently keeping leaves clean, and letting it dry out a little more than normal. Be sure he’s not getting too much sun bc he’ll be strained and more likely to attract pests. 🙏🏼
