It’s not doing well on the bottom, but the top is good. What do I need to do?

Have you checked the roots? Might be some overwatering leading to root rot.

How can you tell if it’s
root rot? If so, what do I need to do?

Healthy roots should be firm and white or tan. If they are mushy and falling off and dark, then cut them off.
