Another casualty of having to go away unexpectedly just before a heatwave 😭

This poor little one didn’t like being neglected and lost lots of its leaves and colour. I cut it back as much as I dared when I got home and it seems to be regrowing some shoots but it’s still very leggy. Now I’m wondering how far back I can cut it to bring it back into proportion. If I cut any of the big stems back, will it grow from the roots? Or can I only take it back as far as the existing nodes?
