Hey there! Does anyone know what this white stuff is in the top of my orchids soil? And why is it there?

Eeeks it’s mold. Do you have this orchid in a nursery pot or is this ceramic pot the pot it’s planted in?

Okay, so for orchids they have a very specific and detailed care plan. I don’t have one for myself but I saved one for my sister that was molding as well. It needs a special orchid pot with holes not only in the bottom but on the sides, the orchid roots act like leaves as well so they like clear pots so they can get sunlight and oxygen as well. They hate to have wet feet and the mold is probably from the soil being too moist.

Yep! Get a plastic orchid specific pot and orchid specific soil and give her a repot

I use just orchid bark and charcoal mix and mine are popping out new flowers :))
