# WHOA 😩 I just took this Easter Cactus down from the shelf to water…

WHOA 😩 I just took this Easter Cactus down from the shelf to water and it exploded leaves everywhere. I haven’t changed any routines, but could this be from the heat wave?? We don’t have AC in this room so it was nearly 90 last week. Gonna try to prop them but dang. Advice welcome!!!

Oof!! Wow — explosion is a good word for this. I have to imagine it was from the heat if nothing else has changed. How long have you had it?

Curious to see what others think of this, too

A quick search is saying it has to be the extreme temp change. If it’s on a shelf maybe the extra height with the heat contributed?

I think so, too. I’ve had it for almost 5 months. I’m gonna move it to a room with a little less light and hope that helps the next time it gets hot.

Mine did that too when I brought it in from the cold! If you leave it alone, it will grow back pretty fast. They are very easy to propagate with a couple nodes.
