# Hi! Just wondering if anyone knows what could be happening to my…

Hi! Just wondering if anyone knows what could be happening to my golden pothos, it can’t be overwatering because honestly, most of the time I even forget to water it…. Could it be too much direct sunlight? I have it on a south facing window sill, it gets a lot of direct sunlight.

It could be a few things. the direct sun, under watering, or even inconsistent watering. The rest of the plant looks great so I wouldn’t think it’s a pest issue. When was the last repot?

The last repot was actually a couple days ago, but my packaged soil bag was exposed to outdoor weather, so I hope nothing funky got into the soil!!! I’m not too worried, I’m sure it’s too much direct sun, or like you said, under watering. Thank you for responding!!

Lack of fertilizer is another possibility.

If it’s just one leaf it’s probably nothing. But I think you have another leaf in the back that has a yellow edge.

Do you think I should prune off the yellowing leaf?

I would. No point in letting your plant devote energy to a yellowed leaf, especially since you have such a full plant with nice big leaves and it won’t be obvious. Even if it’s actually still healthy and just variegated like someone else said, it won’t be a big loss.

My pothos did this and worried me at first. Turns out it was just some natural variegation. That might be the case for yours as well. The leaf looks fairly healthy, I would leave it for now.
