Thrips are the worst. You are going to want to address those ASAP.

Step one isolate the plant. If its been sitting near others just assume they all have them now and treat them all.

Thrips lay their eggs in the leaf, which protects it from topical treatments. After a short period they drop into the soil to finish developing and crawl out as the little black bug. So you have to treat the plant and the soil, for multiple treatments as they’ll constantly be at different stages of development.

1\) Diatomaceous Earth - dust the entire plant. Every inch. Soil and all - You will have to repeat this process a few times.

2\) Insecticide spray (the strong, spray outside only kinda stuff) Make sure thrips is listed as a pest on the bottle. Don’t waste your time with neem oil, or natural treatments for thrips if you have a large infestation. Then dust the soil with diatomaceous earth. This will kill the ones crawling up. - you will have to spray 1x/5-7 days for a few treatments.

I always continue treatment for 2-4 weeks after I see the last bugs, just to make sure I’ve got them at all their stages.
