# Well…I made my first big plant parent mistake. I learned after…

Well…I made my first big plant parent mistake. I learned after cutting off what I thought were corms that these babies actually have tuberous roots. The Mandarin Spider plants were already rescued projects that needed some love but the rattlesnake Calathea was super healthy. Any suggestions for helping them through losing a big part of their root system??

Yes! They’re both doing fine. I was splitting a larger plant into two smaller ones when I took them out lol. I didn’t notice any major issues from it.
