Hey I wanna know what’s wrong with my bird of paradise. There is browning on stems and leafs are splitting. I have glow light on for 16 hours a day. I water it every week. Something that I noticed its that even though i water it evenly in my pot. Everytime one part of the pot will remain dry and others will remain moist. I see some yellowing and browning on leaf as well.

I believe your soil mix is too dense and potentially hydrophobic. The water isn’t reaching much of the roots and she’s probably a mix of underwatered/ overwatered. Water is only reaching some spots and those areas are likely over saturated while other areas within the pot are bone dry. I recommend repotting into a chunky soil mix and use a chopstick to measure moisture levels before future waterings. Weekly checks on plants are great, but you may not need to water every week.

Sounds like she’s hydrophobic
