# I’m not sure what to do for both my spider plant and my Ivy plant.…

I’m not sure what to do for both my spider plant and my Ivy plant. I’ve had them both for a while now and they are slowly dying because the amount of times I’ve been bringing them back and forth from my college and my home. Could someone help please? They are both drooping and have yellow leaves

Need to see pictures in normal white light to better see the damages.

I’m not sure and can’t tell without the white light picture, but it might be underwatered.

Thanks for uploading the pictures. Looks like water, soil and pot size issues on both. Lighting is an issue too.

Pothos - The soil looks spent and washed out. It should be change. Looks like salt crust ring in the soil. Low lighting is probably an issue. You can only cut up the pothos at this point. Propagate in water, especially the sections with leaves. Place in bright indirect light in a warm location. Change the propagation water each week. Add SuperThrive plant vitamins to the water. It takes about 3 weeks to get good roots. Repot all the cuttings in a single pot.

Spider plant - I’m assuming it’s overwatering and low light causing the. The colors should be bright and distinct between the stripes. The soil is too deep in the pot and air probably isn’t circulating well in the large ceramic pot. It takes longer for the soil to dry out.  
-I recommend a change of soil with one that has good drainage.  
\- Ensure the soil is all the way up to the pot’s rim  
\- Replace the pot with a smaller and not so deep pot. Spider plants like being snug.  
\- Place in bright indirect light or add a grow light (better) to give it 10 hours of light for both plants.  
\- Be sure to fertilize each month with diluted fertilizer and every two weeks in the warmer months.

If your transporting them and it’s cold where you live put a bag over top to create a micro climate and warm up you’re car before hand

Thanks for the responses, guys! I really appreciate it. I’ll try to find the specific things you all told me to find. Hopefully it isn’t too expensive. I may have to wait till the summer though, as I’m not financially stable atm and I’m currently living with a pretty shitty roommate. It’s already hard enough to have a plant in my dorm room with my roommate. Hopefully these babies can survive till then
