Hi, I recently bought tissue culture from Orange Lake (about a month ago). I have a Thai Con Monstera and a Red Anderson Philodendron. They are planted starter plugs in 2in pots then I filled the remaining space with a mixture of Soil/Sphagnum Moss. I am maybe 2-3 weeks into the acclimation process and used an airtight clear container to maintain 100% humidity for about a week and a half before slowly exposing to air. They have been doing great and both even given me a new leaf. But while they were out I noticed that the tips seem to be a bit brown :( They still haven’t had exposure to sunlight and are about 7 inches from my grow light bar which stays on all day for the most part. I am wondering what could be the cause of this, how to fix it, and if this will seriously harm my plant. I tried to look up what I may have done wrong and I think 1. I may have been overwatering and 2. I did not know I should not be using fertilizer and am worried I ruined the roots. I used a very diluted mix but I still feel bad. In the future I would keep them in high humidity longer without messing with them, and use different media as someone recommended fluvial stratum.

I have found this to be fairly common occurance with OLN TC. I've only lost one that molded. I use a diluted fertilizer on them after a few weeks. That shouldn't have caused an issue

If you've exposed them to ambient air, it maybe just them revolting less humidity too

Thanks for your reassurance, I was hoping I hadn’t messed up by doing that😓 Where do you recommend getting TC? I’ve been thinking about just doing it myself lol

No worries, it can be stressful. I have gotten TC a few times some OLN, my others I've gotten directly from labs overseas, like Newyeargarden and a few others. If you are wanting to try yourself i highly recommend Plant Cell Technology and Plants in Jars on YouTube
