Got this plant a couple days ago as a birthday gift, any care tips? I know this plant specifically dies after blooming and I cut off some of the more deader leaves. It also has some pups growing at the base there. No clue if this is after blooming or from something else

The pups are normal, the mother plant will die and leave the pups behind
