Hi! These are my moonflowers and I planted them around a week ago. I live in NJ and it’s been raining a lot recently and the pot has no drainage holes fyi. I’ve noticed their leaves are turning brown and yellow and I know it’s hard to tell but do any of you guys think you know if I’m over watering or under watering? Or maybe something else. I just really don’t want them to die. Thanks!

The plant might just have uneven watering from the pot with no drainage. This happened to a few of my plants with no drainage pots and if you don’t want them to die I’d repot them into a nursery pot with tons of drainage that could still fit into your pot with no drainage. The pot on the outside could be your cover pot so it still looks nice. To make this method even more effective id put a tray under your misery pot to collect any water that doesn’t fully soak in. One more thing, when you repot maybe use a more chunky soil mix.

The soil needs to be able to drain water; in its current pot, it’s just holding onto water which can lead to pests and root rot. Moonflowers grow very quickly so I’d recommend getting a large planter with a trellis for them to climb.

I planted one from seed in college and it quickly outgrew the 24lx10wx10 d planter we made for it within a year and started scaling our porch overhang.

My favorite flowers btw. I hope you get to see the flowers open one day!
