# Can anyone please identify? I washed them all off thinking it was…

Can anyone please identify?  
I washed them all off thinking it was just dried peat moss that popped up from watering. Like little strings.  
The plant is a beautiful birds nest fern.

Weird thing is out of all 24 of my plants, this is the only one I have bought from a high end nursery!

I actually think this is normal for birds nest ferns. If you look at the center where the fronds come out it looks fuzzy. I have a crispy wave fern, which is a variation of birds nest, that I’ve had for years and it has this filament like fuzz, also…. Also as you can see cat hair 😁
