# Hi all - worried about my Bird of Paradise - 2 lower leaves turning…

Hi all - worried about my Bird of Paradise - 2 lower leaves turning brown in the middle. Owned for 5m and hasn’t been repotted, water only when top 2 inches are dry, seems to drain fine but still in original nursery soil. Really appreciate any advice!

It looks like a watering issue. I allow my BOP to almost dry completely in between waterings. I would also do a repot and check the roots in the process. They may be root bound. Otherwise, it looks gorgeous!

Thank you, I discovered he is definitely root bound - new pot, new soil, roots otherwise look solid and will be more careful on watering. Thank you!
