# I got a new mini monstera about a week ago. I got it with wet soil…

I got a new mini monstera about a week ago. I got it with wet soil and havent watered since, but i noticed these dark brown spots with yellow rings beginning to form? I think its spreading to other leaves, im not too sure. Is this a form of root rot or fungal infection? And if so, how do i fix it so it doesnt continue to spread to the other leaves?

repot stat — get eyes on those roots

Ill look into getting another pot somewhere— what should I look for when looking at the roots?

anything mushy/black/smelly should be removed. if you find rot, you’ll want to give the root system a dunk in a hydrogen peroxide solution after you remove what’s bad.

get it repotted in something well draining and good luck!
