# What are these? Hello friends, I was watering my fiddle leaf fig…

What are these?

Hello friends, I was watering my fiddle leaf fig plant today and I noticed some small white and purple pieces in the soil, and when you squeeze them, they kind of pop (see pics below)

I’m worried it might be a nest or something. Does anyone know what this could be? I haven’t repotted or changed the soil since I bought it a few months ago from the store.

I appreciate it it you help about this

Are you sure it's not slow release fertilizer pellets that came with the soil? Not sure why they'd pop though...

The irregular shape is throwing me off, because I feel like insect eggs would look more round or uniform?

Like the other user mentioned, most likely fertilizer pods? I have no idea what else they could be. Bug eggs/pupa are often very recognizable and have a distinguishing shape that doesn’t vary.

Thank you

Looks like fertilizer pellets that nurseries put in the soil. They come in all colors including tan, blue, white, black and gray.
