# I could use some help with my Venus fly trap. I had looked up info…

I could use some help with my Venus fly trap. I had looked up info when I first got in several weeks ago and I bought Sphagnum Moss Potting Mix for Carnivorous Plants. I also use a self watering pot for it (which I had read was good for it)

But it doesn’t appear to be thriving. I do give it a fly from time to time. But maybe I’m not feeding it enough???? How often should I be feeding it?

Hi lovey!! Venus are carnivorous so they actually go through a dormant period. I’d research your area and see what you can do to give it its perfect dormancy period! A cold garage or fridge is common!

They die off and go dormant. ONLY use rain or distilled water. I never feed mine, they definitely catch bugs though.
