Hi all,

I’m somewhat new to keeping houseplants but I’ve noticed something. I recently got this Coleus and I can’t tell if the small bugs crawling around the soil are beneficial (as I purchased it from a vendor who took care of the soil of her plants) or if they are something along the lines of spidermites. There are no webs, and none are on the stems or leaves. Only on the soil. I wish I could post a video but these are all I could do.

I would so appreciate any insight! Thank you!

I have no idea but when I bring home a new plant I spray it down with insecticidal soap, let it sit and then rinse with the sprayer in the sink or tub. I love those plants I just saw one at Home Depot and wanted to buy it. How much light do they require?
