# Hi! I have a giant philodendron whose stalk at the base hasn’t been…

Hi! I have a giant philodendron whose stalk at the base hasn’t been growing to keep up with how tall it’s getting and how many leaves it’s growing, and has fallen over since the base stalk is too thin. A friend has said it’s a disease and to burn it but I wanted to check here first. Help please! And thank you! I’d rather not get rid of the plant if I can help it

Said friend has said he was messing with me and that I just need a moss pole or trellis of some kind🙈

lol yes it looks completely fine. You have to stake philodendrons if you want them to grow upwards.

If you don’t care about it growing vertical, you just let it hang as it is a vining plant
