Anyone have any advice for dealing with fungus gnats? I’ve got some issues with my soil drainage that I’m working on in one of my plants, but in the meantime, they’re starting to escape from the room I keep my plants in and annoy some of my roommates. Is there anything treatment I can, like, put in the soil to help kill some of them without harming my plants? I know some things exist but I’m not sure which I should do.
I’m already using some sticky traps, but those aren’t getting all of them.

I use mosquito bits! You can put them on top of the soil and top water and you can also make a tea with it and water the plants with that. If it’s really bad I change the soil out. I also use the Zevo plug ins! Good luck!

If you’re using the mosquito bits you need to water from the top but otherwise just water from the bottom. Then the top soil stays dry so they can’t thrive in it.

Mosquito bits are the only thing that I’ve used and I have no gnats.

I use Gnatrol. Mix with water apply to plant one week apart for three weeks and they are gone. Gnatrol contains what is on mosquito bits without the bits that grew mold for me. The chemical is Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis (larvicide specific to fungus gnats).

I agree with other people's suggestions. Adding a carnivorous species to your collection can also help; butterworts and sundews are among the easiest ones
