# My monstera has a sick leaf and I’m not sure if it’s due to lack of…

My monstera has a sick leaf and I’m not sure if it’s due to lack of watering or too much or even not enough sunlight. I just repotted because it sprouted 2 new leaves and a whole new little sprout so I felt that it needed a bigger pot. The roots looked fine but that leaf is the oldest leaf so idk if that’s normal for it to just yellow and brown like that. Any recommendations to save the leaf I don’t want it to get worse and hurt the rest of the plant!

You should get a moisture meter to check. That is the only way to know for sure. Pot size should be determined by the roots. If they are all balled up it’s probably time to repot. In any Cato would follow the instructions from Planta. They have never let me down.

I would say that it was a mistake to change the pot, unfortunately :( If it aint broke, dont fix it. Monsteras just like tight pots. If they arent putting out leaves, theyre putting all their energy into lots of roots. The plant was happy putting out leaves. Now its redirected its energy to roots again and the leaves will suffer a bit. Hopefully the leaves arent too fragile and can take the hit. Dont do anything for a while, let it work itself out.
