# Just picked up this monstera today from my local Home Depot. Not sure…

_Publicado por Sofie el 2024-05-22_

Just picked up this monstera today from my local Home Depot. Not sure why he has all these brown tears and marks in the leaves, and I was wondering if there was anything I needed to do. Is this just because he wasent getting adequate care or was I super unlucky and picked a dying plant? I did notice he had some new growth so I’m assuming he’s still healthy. I just ordered a moss pole for some extra support and a grow light so hopefully that should help him out a bit. Any suggestions welcome! I need all the help I can get!

It looks mishandled causing damages to the leaves. New leaves are delicate and easy to damage. Also, moving to a new environment can cause additional stress until the plant gets used to its new home. Wait two to three weeks before repotting.

Inconsistent watering can cause drooping. I recommend giving the plant time to adjust. A pole won’t hurt. Ensure the soil dries before watering. Again, wait to repot. Fertilize every 2 weeks with 50%?diluted liquid fertilizer if there are no fertilizer beads in the soil. 🍀🪴
