# Please help! My African Prayer Plant has had a lot of yellowing…

Please help! My African Prayer Plant has had a lot of yellowing leaves recently 😭 how can I help prevent these? Is there anyway to reverse the ones that are yellow? FYI: I have a grow light over top the plant. I also live in an old house that isn’t insulated the best, and it’s by a window, so it can get chilly.

There’s no reversing the damage, you can cut them off. Has it ever been repotted? Anytime I have a plant that’s looking sad I check the roots (rot will smell funky and the roots will be squishy) It most likely just needs some better soil to allow for good drainage.

I’m thinking this is a lot of my issue…another repot is likely due soon!!

One time, actually with this exact plant, I had to repot it for a similar purpose and I found about 20 worms! 🪱 turns out my daughter (10) dropped a worm while feeding her axolotl and instead of feeding it a “dusty” worm she decided it could live in my plant 🤣 oy!
