Hello! I have a fern that I’ve taking into my horticulture class and my teacher said that this (in the picture) is a type of mildew. I also have fungal flies on it (walmart plant). I’ve sprayed it with fungicide3 but I just wanted to know if anyone else had this issue? (This fuzzy stuff is only on the stems but not on all of them). I deadheaded, took out all of the dead leaves and have a sticky thing for the flies. Pls send good thoughts for this plant.

Omg my lemon button fern looks just like that and it’s just slowly dying🫣😣

it’s horrific, I actually also overwatered it and grew a mushroom as well in the same pot. try copper based fungicides. it seems to be working for mine. the thing is my plant honestly looks healthy

I need to know if anyone answers your post. I have a crispy wave (fern) that has some suspiciously similar spots. I thought it had to do with fertilizing when I later learned I shouldn’t have. And maybe with too strong of fertilizer. Anyways I hope you figure it out and I hope I can find this post again to see if anyone else chimes in!

I didn’t even think about that! I used some indoor plant fertilizer a few times but I stopped a long time ago. Thank you for the perspective!

this is the current status of my fern. I will repot it with different soil tomorrow because I think the gnats are in the soil.
