# Help! The oldest leaves on my Pothos are turning yellow and falling…

_Posted by sorrel on 2025-05-07_

Help! The oldest leaves on my Pothos are turning yellow and falling off at an alarming rate. This hasn't happened before, it's been doing well for a while. Does anyone know what might be going wrong? Not enough light? too much light? Too much water? Not enough water? Should I repot? I would appreciate advice, I don't want it to die and it's losing leaves faster than it grows them :(

This happened to mine and I wasn’t sure where the issue was coming from . I resorted to cleaning the leaves thoroughly and giving the plant a good repot and watering . I let it fully dry out in between now . It’s been happy since then , so maybe that could work. hope this helps!

I know that every response on this app is “overwatering” but this happened to mine when I overwatered it, the drainage clogged. I agree with the first comment, repot and all that. Sometimes it just good to go over everything when something like this happens. Good luck!

If its just the oldest leaves. Pop it out of the pot and check it's not rootbound
