# I am assuming this is mold…. The plant seems to be fine for the most…

_Posted by Miranda on 2024-03-11_

I am assuming this is mold…. The plant seems to be fine for the most part due to blooming for the third or fourth time this season…. I know I need to repot asap but would you guys suggest a bigger pot? a smaller pot? Is it too tall of a pot?

Any suggestions will be most welcome. Thanks!

I’d say that is slime mold and will not harm the plant. I have also read slime molds are not known to be a danger to animals (pets or humans), unless someone maybe has an allergy to it. Consider it more of a nuisance than a disease if you don’t like to see it. It can be beneficial in breaking down organic matter, therefore providing nutrients to the plants. I do not repot a plant if it has slime mold in the soil, but if it moves onto the leaves or stems I would remove it from those areas.

To me, those photos look like slime mold, which is harmless. You can stir the top layer of soil around if you don’t want to see it.
