# Recently got this Wisteria sinensis and it has been getting more…

_Publié par 🌸Jardinier🌸 le 2024-11-18_

Recently got this Wisteria sinensis and it has been getting more yellow leaves now with black spots. I have another massive wisteria and it looks okay so far but wanted to make sure there wasn’t some infection?
I don’t see any pests anywhere. Thought on how to save?

Generally black spots is fungal, it is contagious. I would remove any really bad yellow or spotted leaves and spray down with a fungicide. And keep removing any really bad or fallen leaves, as they can keep infections the plant while you're treating it.

Wolfen… I trust your judgment… I have several plants with some issues, and I’m going on vacation… bad, bad timing! If you can give me a quick text back with your opinions, I’d love you to the moon and back,🙄! (That’s always what I tell my kids.) Kidding aside, I’m very concerned. TXS!
🤗💚🪴
PS. I have lots more pics, and can send them to you, if needed.

Oh that is the worst. I hate closing up the apartment for a trip and see things that nred attention before i go. Then im racing around like mad. Are they powdery or textured at all? It could be powdery mildew. Which is also a fungus, so could be treated the same as the wisteria. The other would be mealy bugs or a mite, but if you're not seeing any bugs activity, then I'd treat it like a fungal

I appreciate you! I went ahead and followed your instructions and took off the leaves and am happy to report it seems well-controlled now :)

My biggest fear was that there was a Wisteria Vein Mosaic Virus superimposed on the fungal infection because the leaves don’t seem like canonical wisteria leaves at the moment (except for one set of three right in the bottom middle portion of pic).

Grateful for your expertise!

I'm glad it's looking better. My two wisteria are still babies, but it seems like it's always something with them. They're too hot or too wet. I feel like they want me to just shift them around the stoop several times a day, like a little plant chauffeur lol. are the classic leaves on an older portion of the trunk maybe?
