# What is a natural remedy or way to get rid of gnats that are in soil?…

_Publicado por Jade🪷 el 2025-07-03_

What is a natural remedy or way to get rid of gnats that are in soil? I have sticky traps but it’s not enough. Is there something I could spray or add to the soil when I water? They are mainly in my pots that are bottom watered 🥲

They’re expensive to ship so I get it if not for you but I’ve really loved beneficial nematodes from Nature’s Good Guys!! You just add a powder to your water and in a few weeks I saw not ONE gnat until I repotted and now I just added it again.

Mighty Mint has worked great on all of my plants—highly recommend it! You can find it on Amazon.

Mosquito bits/dunks. After misting the top of my soil monthly, I’ve seen considerably less gnats. Last I’ve seen ONE was on top of one of my plants as I was watering it.

Second this. I do semi-regular watering of the "tea" (Mosquito Bits soaked in a gallon of water, discard Bits, use water on soil).

You can also use a 4:1 water/peroxide mix to water. I just repotted my young fiddle fig that had a gnat problem. Dunked the whole thing in the mixture, doused the water. 🤞

I have been using the systemic granules, but I still see gnats, though less than when I first started my plant parenthood. I’m going to try some of the other suggestions I’m seeing here to see if I get better results!
