# Help!! I’ve had my trusty Blue Spruce (named Bruce) for about a year…

Help!! I’ve had my trusty Blue Spruce (named Bruce) for about a year and he had been doing well until recently when he began dropping needles and the top needles are brown. Any advice?? Thanks in advance!!!

Did light or water change?

Might need new soil. Sometimes the soil becomes too dry and won’t absorb enough water. Which could also be why it’s dry. And falling off.

Do you know if I need special conifer soil? I’m reading mixed things on the internet

They like moist but well draining a soil that is rich in organic stuff is ideal.

Thanks folks!! Maybe it’s time to repot him, as well as invest in a grow light. I moved to New England so light (especially this time of year) is low
