My coworker has a bonsai that we think is dead, like very dead. however is there any way he could salvage any part of it? There was also some white mold from overwatering. Any ideas on death/ funeral preparations??

it was likely the overwatering, it probably washed all of the nutrients out of the soil and drowned the plant

you could look at the roots before you burn it viking-style to see if it’s still got potential tho 🤷‍♀️

To check if it's barely alive, you can scrape the bark off the stem low on the plant. If it's green, you have a survivor. If it's dry and brown all the way through, it's toast
